A birthday to remember

For as long as I can remember, my birthday has always coincided with revision time or study leave and no one ever wanted to celebrate before exams. I always heard promises such as: Yeah, sure, we'll make it up to you after exams, but when the time came, they all vanished to their holiday destinations. My last proper birthday party was when I turned 9.

I won't deny the small-scale surprises I've had. I mean some of them were great.

Year 1 at uni: I got surprised by my friends: Jazz, Salima, Andre, Lois, Karen, Azra. They all knew I loved accessorize so they got me gift vouchers.

Year 2 at uni: There were fights going on, and I ended up getting 4 birthday cakes. I also ended up going with Honey and Aigrem to watch The count of Monte Cristo which came out on my bday.

Year 3 at uni: I went out to see Sophia and we ended up partying the night away. I was having a hard time with the freaky twins and yamantak.

Year 4 at uni: These were my Bsc finals so I stayed home had a cake from the first year girls: Maha, Sharmini..etc.

Year 5 at uni: Spent it with my then best-friend Bondiyah. I should have seen the lies and fakeness right there right then.

Year 6 at uni: This was meant to be a golden year as I turned 25. I ended up at Wildcat's house with a chololate log cake and lots of revision. (Thank you Wildcat)

I will let bygones be bygones and I hope the future is kinder than the past has been.
Till we meet again,
Sedeso
